My "Check Engine" light is on and my vehicle strains to reach any speed, what could the cause be?
The main computer on board your vehicle not only makes commands, it also continually monitors sensors, solenoids and many other systems designed to make your vehicle operate at peak performance. When any of these devices including ones inside the transmission fails in some way, this is recognized by the computer and can command what is called "Fail Safe". This usually is the computer commanding only one particular gear. Typically second or third gear.
